The annual PowerUp for Technology workshop is offered to PAUSD teachers the week before teachers return to work for the fall. Participants may earn two units of professional growth credit. Note: Remember to preplan with the HR Department.


Course Topics:
• Improve basic skills: Email and OS X
• Explore online tools and resources to support curriculum
• Improve communication with a blog or webpage
• Use digital cameras, still and video, and editing software
• Create audio files for many purposes
• Work with Inspiration and/or other graphic organizers
• Discuss ways to integrate tech into instructional practice
• Create an individual project


Software to Explore, as interested:
• New email (Webmail and Entourage)
• Blogs and Wikis
• iWeb for easy webpages & podcasts
• iPhoto
• iMovie
• Garageband
• Kidspiration and Inspiration
• Comic Life
• Online Web 2.0 applications

For attending the entire week, participants earn two (2) professional growth units.

Each day will include a Mac OS X Tip of the Day as well as a Smartboard Tip of the Day. Plus other topics, as requested by the group.
