Here's the website with complete information: www.google.com/doodle4google

Register online by: Friday, March 28 (yes, this is SOON and during Spring Break)
Entries due: Saturday, April 12

A panel of judges will select 40 finalist doodles, and then the public will help select a favorite to be featured on the Google homepage on May 22nd. Start doodling!

Vocabulary to Feed the World: FreeRice (one of last issue's sites)
This note from Halimah Van Tuyl (Briones) about this site:
  "
One thing I have heard about the free rice site. Americans should be aware that
the large quantities of free rice that are given to countries in many cases, makes
life very much harder for the local rice farmers in developing countries. It
depresses the price they can get at the local market.
"It's not the kids doing vocabulary words that bring harm, because all the rice
is/was going to be distributed anyway. However, especially older students should
be aware of how the economics of international aid works. It might be good for
teachers to challenge their students to give the counterpoint to our current
structure of aid giveaways."
